Gweru commissioner brutally assaults resident after failing to answer 'simple question'

One of the commissioners appointed by Minister of Local Government Saviour Kasukuwere to run the City of Gweru following the suspension of councillors on corruption charges, reportedly beat up a resident who had asked him 'a simple question' at a meeting.

The incident took place within the Mayor's Parlour on Thursday.

According to Nkabazwe FM, a Gweru community radio station which is yet to get a licence, Commissioner (Mark) Choga 'showed his martial arts skills by giving a youngman (Francis) Muzorera a brutal attack.'

Francis Muzorera
Chairman Tsunga Mhangami and Parenyi Chamunorwa constitute the other members of the commission.

"The Commission that was put in place by Minister Kasukuwere failed to respond to resident's question on how much they are getting from the City Council as their allowances," informed Nkabazwe FM.

Local residents associations have accused the commission of ripping the city more than the councillors after allegedly awarding themselves five-figure allowances.
