Persistence and resilience paid off for Chapungu at Ascot in the second half after initially being shot down by asbestos miners Shabanie in the first half, courtesy of a Talbbot Mutombeni goal in the 32nd minute.

The airmen found their equaliser in the 82nd minute through Hillary Mugoniwa.

Said Chapungu coach John Nyikadzino after the match:"I am happy that my men managed to keep up pressure on their opponents, resulting in a draw. They were not subdued at all, they played a good game.As you know they played Dynamos midweek and had fatigue had crept in."

His namesake John Phiri, the "Chinda Boys" mentor admitted his charges had relaxed in the last half of the game resulting in them loosing two potential points.

"However, we were playing away from home, and we got a point - thats not much to cry about - at least tiri pamusoro peFC Platinum," joked the former national team player in reference to his Zvishavane town rivals.
