Eunah Badza together with accomplices Taurai Marova (30) and Taurai Kondanai appeared before Gweru magistrate Vimbai Makora on theft charges.

The three allegedly connived to steal from Orderline Shava after Badza took Shava’s bank card and personal identity number from her wallet in her employer’s bedroom.

The State alleges that on April 8, Badza stole an ATM card and personal identity number belonging to Shava where she was employed as a maid in Southdowns, Gweru. Badza gave the bank card to Kondanai who was also employed as a salesman by Shava at her boutique in town.

Kondanai allegedly gave the card to Marova and $1 transport fee so that he could make the illegal withdrawals in Kwekwe.

Marova went to Standard Chartered Bank in Kwekwe the following day where he withdrew $1 000 and the three shared the money. Badza then put the ATM card in Shava’s wallet. When Shava went to withdraw money from her account, she discovered that her money had been stolen.

She requested for a bank statement and discovered that a transaction of $1 000 had been carried out in Kwekwe.

Suspicious, Shava confronted her maid who could not give a satisfactory explanation, forcing her to report the matter to the police.

Badza then implicated Kondanai and Marova. - SOUTHERN EYE
